Hi! I am new to chickens. I'll be picking up 7 8-week old hens in February. I chose a variety of breeds - Buff Orpington, Lavender Orpington, Barred Rock, Speckled Sussex, Rhode Island Red, Easter Egger, and Black Copper Maran.
We are almost done building our coop/run combo. It's 18'x10' and open air since we're in North Central Florida.
I am looking forward to having eggs (we love to cook and EAT) and chicken poo for the garden.
