New Chicken!

Today I got a new chicken! I have not got a name yet and would love some suggestions! (Sorry the pic is so bad) She is the grey one chilling with my 5 year old (SHES ABOUT 3)

Naming new chickens is always an enjoyable chore for me.

Most of my chickens either get names related to their countries of origin (i.e., French names for the Faverolles and Czech names for the Sapphire Gems) or "vintage" type names. I try to avoid trendy ones. There was a prominent Iowa ornithologist named Althea, which is a contender for any of this year's chicks.
In any case, with the exception of a pair of Iowa Blues, named by the only other human member of the household -- who dubbed them Pip and Squeak -- mine all get human names.

In any case, enjoy your new addition and happy naming!
