Yikes! Hope you build a good, strong, predator proof pen. Do you really cold there ever? I live in a very mild climate area. I do not get snow, or freezing or very hot. So, for me, its easy keeping chickens.

At the bottom end of the island they get snow and of cause up in the mountains. I said that if it snowed (when we bought our land), then I was packing my suitcase. We get a bit of frost, but it's fairly sheltered where we are..... but we had the wettest winter this year in over 50 years. Our dam never stopped flowing all winter.
