Welcome to BYC. Post pictures when you can, but most likely it is just a hormonal thing. Many roosters show a reddening of their legs as they mature.

Please post some pics of your roosters leg. That might be normal, because some roosters have red stripes across their legs-- not sure if he hurt himself or not.
