new chickens in the flock

i had a friend call about a few 2-3 day old chicks to add to my flock of 5 week old layers can i add them or will i have trouble

If you do it at night, I'd think you'd be fine. I kept adding chicks. I'd stay and watch for a bit, though. The oldest in my flock is 7 weeks, and the youngest are less than a week old.

Just watch them, that's quite an age difference.

With the varying ages i would wait until they are a bit bigger.

I am having the same problem. I havent gotten the new chicks yet. But when I do, my 3 other chicks will be about 5 weeks old. Keep us posted. I will be checking back to see what worked out for you.
