We recently got 2 POL chickens to add to our flock. Due to bird flu the news ones had largely been raised in a barn so the first few nights they settled on the floor of the run rather than in the coop. The next few nights they perched in the doorway of the coop so I had to shoo them in to shut the door.
Recently they have started roosting on a branch in the run and our original chickens have started joining them!
The original ones never had any issue with taking themselves into the coop as it got dark, so how do I get them back to this and teach the new ones?
I hoped the new ones would follow the resident chickens, not the other way round!
