New Chickens

Hi, I am not new to having chickens, but it's been a few years . I had a mixed flock and we also had a lot of problem with predators. We lost a lot and kinda gave up having Chickens , this spring we agreed to get new chickens. But this time we are starting with 10 , and all the same breed . New coop, new run, and very excited.
This time we got Barnevelders, because all said they are such a awesome breed. We got them all today . Anyone here have any experience with this breed ? The reason I ask is because someone told me this morning that they are terrible, bad temper, hard to handle and so on, and that is not what I have read about them .
