Hi
So i just bought 2 new Araucanas at POL to add to my flock of 3. They are gorgeous and lavender coloured but i’ve noticed with mostly the smaller one keeps opening its beak wide repeatedly, she also makes a gurgling noise and keeps sneezing. I’ve noticed the larger of the 2 keeps sneezing too.
Should this be something i should be concerned about or am i just being paranoid because it’s new chickens? i would rather not exclude them from the other chickens for too long and it would be really unusual for them to be ill already seeing as i bought them only yesterday and the breeder is very trustworthy.
Thanks.

Welcome to BYC.
I suspect they may have a respiratory disease, showing symptoms due to stress of relocation to a new environment. I highly recommend that you return both birds back to the breeder. Do NOT introduce them to your existing flock. The two new ones WILL infect your other 3 birds.

they also were in the same enclosed area as the other chickens but not at the same time, again does this matter?
