I am getting several new babies and I have a desperately broody orpington. What if I put the new babies in the nest box with her? It is warm outside ?????

If the Orp has been sitting close to 3 weeks...I think it can be done. We tried on a Sebright that had been broody for 2 months. One chick was totally lost and the other ended up in another nest box, how? We don't know and half frozen. It did break the sebright's broodiness. that very next morning she stopped setting.

Orphaling was rescued and raised happily with mille fleurs and SLW.

The one time I tried, the hen killed half the chicks. She was fine with them til night. We had no clue anything was wrong til morning. Honestly if I were you I wouldn't try it and if I did I'd watch them very carefully.
