Chicks arrived. Here’s the set up! Worried about the heater but I was told it works. All look ok? They are in unheated garage.

Mypetchicken sold me the brooder kit with this heater. I called them and they told me it’s for chicks. Hoping they are ok. The ambient temp in the garage is usually around 35-40f. I have a webcam on them. Pictured below. Looks like they will spend the night like this.

Well, if they are not 'distress cheeping' maybe they'll be OK.
Does your webcam have audio?
Trying to think of a way to rig it up horizontally.
Can't remember seeing this used for chicks like this.

We bought a heat lamp from Tractor Supply. It was under $20 for the lamp and bulb. We also bought a temperature gauge that's wireless; monitor in the brooder and the read-out is outside the room they are in. Works like a charm since we don't have to keep going in there to check their temp.

@Dryfly how are they doing?

Lost one last night but something was wrong with her when she arrived. The other look fine. Just pressed up on Heater at night. I reduced the size of the cardboard brooder dramatically and put a cardboard over the cozy coop heater. I can’t get another type of heating plate until next Friday. Seems everyone is sold out!

Wonder if you can tip it forward with something holding 'top' edge up like a chunk of 4x4" lumber.
Low end pushed against the wall so it won't slide.
