3/10 have hatched so far. Day 21 is supposed to start this afternoon. The 3 that hatched did so between 4:30 and 6:30am. When they hatched, the humidity shot up to 80%, Dont know if that is typical or not. Problem is that they arent drying now. How long does it normally take for them to dry?

The humidity rise is typical, once they start hatching it can zoom around a bit. As far as drying, unless one is in distress I leave them in the hatcher/incubator for 24 hours. Sometimes they dry off but are sticky, making them still look wet.

Congrats on the 3 so far, happy hatching!

Thanks for getting back to me so quick

So much to worry about when you're a new hatcher and dont have the experience.

LOL most of the night actually. 3 have hatched, 5 are pipped and 2 havent done anything yet. Today is day 21 though so they may do something yet. Of course, the 3 hatched chicks are playing soccer with the rest of the eggs so I dont know how that'll turn out.
