New chicks and Kids

We just got five 5-day old chicks.
When should I let the kids start to hold them but I don't want to stress the chicks out.
I definitely want to get the chicks used to people and being held.

It's ok to let them hold them for a few minutes at a time at 5 days old. When you are feeding/watering,

or cleaning the brooder, hand the kids a couple to set on the ground with and watch and talk to them.

The more they get held the friendlier they'll be. If they are small kids just watch to make sure they are gentle. The chicks will let you know when they've had enough by peeping, panting, etc.

I let my 2 and 4 year old hold them. they love it
