Our baby chicks hatched and shipped yesterday. We were so worried about the weekend shipping and not getting them until Monday. Our main hub in Topeka called to see if we could pick them up today and drove the 45 miles to get them. All were alive and well

. Happy, healthy and very noisy!!! Separated out our week and a halfers, to do the beak in water, grogel and feed they ate and drank great (so happy they called today, I shutter to think what they would have been like Monday). This introductions went pretty well, a couple olders had to go into time-out box a few times. Just checked on them a while ago and the constant intervention (and isolation) must have worked. They are all cuddles and happiness in our flock of 28. Today we got 6 RIR, 2 White Rock, 2 Wynadottes, and 2 Pearl White Leghorn pullets. 3 White Rock Cockrels and our mystery exotic chick, which I think is a Dominques (looks a lot like our barred rocks). These little ones joined our 5 Barred Rock pullets, 1 BR roo, 6 mystery "packing peanuts" (think they are production reds, have pullets and roos not sure exact #'s yet).

Love being a chicken mom!!!!

This is our exotic chick, still a mystery......

Our Flock :) Time out box in corner.

Thanks for looking and letting a proud mama share!

Congrats! Aren't they so cute? I have gotten new chicks at least once a year for 4 years now. It never gets old getting and caring for new babies.

So nice to see a postal service looking out for its parcels! Congrats!

Thanks everyone, day two and they are all still doing well. None of the bigger birds have ended up in time out. I can watch these little ones for hours, 28 very different personalities and boy do they have the energy. I get exhausted just watching them. Can't wait until next spring when hubby will let me order more :) or maybe even hatch some of our own little fluff balls.

Having a hen hatch a baby is a miracle here. We love going out checking to see if there are babies. We only let a broody have 2 or 3 eggs at a time. So precious when we find the new babies.
