So my 7 new chicks arrived today, I got 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 Buff Orpington and a 5 pack of Assorted Rare Breed that is supposed to be guaranteed to have at least 3 different breeds, all are supposed to be pullets. Anybody care to make some guesses on what I got? I know the guality isn't that good. I think I have a couple of Easter Eggers in there but would like some other opionions. Also if there are any breeds I should definately eliminate from the possibilities that would be good to know too.

The possible brees are: Buckeye, Ancona, Easter Egger, Black Sumatra, Andalusian (Blue, Black or Splash), Appenzeller Spitzhauben, Scillian Buttercup, Salmon Faverolles, Golden Campine, Buff Chantecler, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Barnvelder, Brahma (Buff Brahma, Light Brahma), Marans (Silver Cuckoo, Golden Cuckoo, Black Copper, Blue Splash, White), Dominique, Dark Cornish, Cochin (White, Partridge), Columbian Wyandotte, Welsummer, White Sultan, Polish (Assorted Colors), Exchequer Leghorn, Speckled Sussex, Hamburg (Assorted colors), Lakenvelder (Silver, Golden), Partridge, Penedesenca,

No 1 - Very Brown in color, different from the rest

No. 2 I'm pretty sure this is my Buff Orpington but I welcome corrections

Number 3 is Black & White and I think the same breed as Number 6

Number 4 I think is my Rhode Island Red, but again welcome corrections

This seems to be trying to crash on me, I'll finish in a second post so I don't loose all of this.

They look really adorable. Soo cute. As for the chicken breeds, not so sure but pretty sure your right about the RIR and Buff

Number 5 I think is an Easter Egger, appears to be the same breed as Number 7

Number 6 again Black & White, I think it is the same breed as number 3

And finally Number 7, the only one in the group not doing so well, I'm not sure she's going to make it. But I think she is an Easter Egger like number 5

Any thoughts or ideas on what to eliminate or keep as possibilites on trying to figure out the breeds is most appreciated!

. Also if there are any breeds I should definately eliminate from the possibilities that would be good to know too.

I took out the breeds I know they are not

What does the comb look like on 5 and 7? They look an awful lot like Sicilian Buttercups (could be Campine too). 1 looks to be an EE. 3 looks more blue than black (Andalusian maybe?). 2 and 4 I think you've already got figured out. 6 looks to have pink legs so that should rule out Ancona and exchequer Leghorn. Well, those are my guesses, such as they are... :-D

I can't really notice much of a comb yet, but I'll post some new pics in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the eliminations, that seemed to cut the possible breeds about in half. If I kept track right that still leaves the possibility of:

Buckeye, Easter Egger, Black Sumatra, Andalusian, Sicillian Buttercup, Golden Campine, Buff Chantecler, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Barnvelder, Marans, Dark Cornish, Columbian Wyandotte, Welsummer, Speckled Sussex, Hamburg, Partridge Penedesenca.

Thanks, keep the thougths coming!

I don't think 3 and 6 are blue Andalusian's because the leg colors aren't correct. Plus mine never had any white down.

3 looks a lot like my Andalusian looked as a baby. She was supposed to be Blue but she's ended up Black to me. She had a whitish color on her as a baby.

Your number 2 looks just like the Golden Buffs I got. However, I haven't seen a Buff Orpington chick so they may look just like Golden Buffs.
