Here are some of the new chicks we hatched , some are from our own eggs which are Silkies the rest are what we had been given by a neighbour who was given them but didn`t have enough room in his. Will get some more pics and post to see if anyone has an idea what they could be. We are also trying out kiln dried fine sand in the brooder box`s instead of shavings once off the paper and so far we are pleased.



 
Cute!!!!! I wish I could afford a sand base for my coop! I went to a small petting zoo in the country last year[ I was selling my turkeys I raised and didn't have the heart to butcher!!!] And his coop was a large log building with a sand base of about 2 foot!!!! I was so envious!!!!!!
 
We hatched 13 out of 20 set, candled at day 7 had 2 non starters 2 more had failed by day 18 and one failed after piping. So for a first run with it we are very pleased.
