Hello Everyone! Finally have our chickens, after years of talking about it

We planned on two or three ended up with eight. We have the coop all built (will post pics of that project when I figure out how) now we are waiting for our Lovely Ladies to grow enough to enjoy the great outdoors safely.

! Pleased you joined us! Planned on two...ended up with eight! Hmmm....sounds like you are a victim of "chicken math!' Don't worry - I'm a victim, too! Enjoy your flock!

HEY!! I am new to the chicken arena, also!! I am taking home my new Americana's today. The school where I work raised them for AG class and I agreed to take them. They are about two weeks old now. I can't wait to watch them continue to grow and have a great flock!! Thanks BYC for all of the info. thus far. Ready to learn a lot more!

It's funny how the numbers sneak up. In chicken math if you get a roo(rooster) you replace them with two (hens). Easy peasy
