New Chicks Have Arrived!! Yellow is the extra?

I figured. I’m splitting this set of chicks with my friend and was hoping to get the 2 OEs out of it but it’s gonna be luck of the draw I think!
In that case, since Ideal says the Olive Eggers are from crossing their line of Easter Eggers with Barnevelders or Welsummers, I would probably pick chicks that have the most traits in common with Welsummers or Barnevelders.

That could include yellow legs, lack of muff/beard on the face, and chipmunk stripes in the chick down (or other patterns of brown.)

Of course there is no guarantee, since some Easter Eggers can have those traits, but it might help you select the ones who are more likely to have a Welsummer or Barnevelder parent, and of course the ones with such a parent are the Olive Eggers.

Perfect, thank you for that!! That’s very helpful :)

Yeah she’s my little petite princess 😍 I got some other day old Brown Leghorns in July and they’re such cute little chipmunks.
My 2 welsummers looked a lot like my brn leghorns when they arrived(still do)I don't see any other other chicks that resemble your brn leghorn.7330 looks like your black star.It has some reddish brown which are the markings of a Blk star(had to correct it sorry)

Good to know cause the black star is the other one I’m definitely keeping! I want the 2 OEs, black star and 1-2 EEs. My friend told me to pick the ones I want and she’ll take whatever since I’m doing the brooding for the first 6-7 weeks 😆

Most Easter eggers have chipmunk stripes as chicks with green legs but I don't have any of them.

I have 3 with a legbar rooster in a flock of other breeds. They're the smallest and cutest little hens I have
I kept 2 of the 4 I got last month and they’re a little flighty but they really are so cute. They’re 8 weeks now and still so small.
