I have 4-5 broody hens. I leave eggs under all of them. Today the first chick was born. What am I supposed to do? Should I leave it with momma? Right now the chick is under momma with 5-6 eggs that will hatch in the coming days.

Should I separate the chicks or let momma take care of it? Heat lamp? Pellets ok or will they need crumbles?

They need crumbles. Mom can eat that too.
Do not give them layer feed!
It has too much calcium for chicks.
Chick starter/grower or an all flock feed is good.
Give the hens oyster shell on the side free choice for their calcium.
I would have a brooder ready just in case you need it if she doesn’t take care of some of them.
But hopefully she’ll be a good Mom. :fl

If the other eggs don't hatch by then, I have 4 other broody hens so all good. Ive been putting my black copper maran eggs under the hens but they were only laying one egg every day or so. That means that eggs are maybe 2 weeks apart between first and last.

So, no need for a heat lamp?
