IN JUNE I AM GETTING 50 CHICKS FROM MCMURRY HATCHERY

AT THE PRESENT I HAVE 17
LAYERS ABOUT 1 YEAR OLD. I GOT 7 OF THEM FROM TRACTOR SUPPLY LAST JUNE AND THE REST FROM A COUPLE OF PEOPLE CLOSE TO ME SELLING CHICKENS . I DID NOT HOW EVER ASK WHERE THEY GOT THERE CHICKENS FROM AND I AM WORRIRD IF THEY MIGHT HAVE SOME THING MY NEW BIRDS WILL GET. WHAT PREVENTIVE MEASURES CAN I TAKE ,AT THE PRESENT THEY ARE ALL IN GOOD HEALTH I HAVE LOST A FEW OLD HENS THIS FALL FORM OLD AGE. BESIDES THAT ALL IS WELL
IS THEIR A WAY TO CHECK IF THEY HAVE BEEN VACCINATED?

IF NOT WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST I DO BEFORE THE NEW ONES ARRIVE?

I would make sure that they ALL are vaccinated for Mareck's. I bought my first batch at MyPetChicken and paid a few cents extra per chick to have them vaccinated. You can check w/ McMurray, I'm sure they offer the same service. It's pretty routine.

I've gotten chicks from McMurray's twice and had them vaccinated for Marek's by McMurray's before they ship them. It doesn't cost that much extra so it's worth it. Good luck with your new chicks
