New chicks on the block?

I am brooding some chicks to be shared with a friend who has a small existing flock of standards and bantams. Is there an age at which it would be best to combine? They are 5 weeks now and we were thinking about 8 weeks, but I would appreciate advice. I don't know if breed makes any difference, but they are EE, BR, and BA. Thanks!

We did alot of supervised socializing with ours until the chicks were about as big a the hens. Once everyone was about the same size, we put the chicks into the coop with the hens. Worked well for us, and we've never had any problems since combining them.
