Hi all.

I am very new to this. Since the chicks have arrived a few hours ago all they have done is sleep under the brooder. They are not making a noise or fuss but equally they are not eating or drinking... Should I be worried?

They are under one of those square hen brooder in a box in our living room. I am terrified atm I have done something wrong although my set up is to the letter...

If you got day old chicks a few hours ago that are sleeping, that is normal. Let them rest from their trip for awhile. Introduce them to food and water as soon as they wake. Tap the food with your finger repeatedly (the mother hen pecks the ground in front of them to show them what to eat) and dip their beaks into the water a few times. They get the hang of it quickly. You are doing fine! :hugs

Please show entire brooder.
Were chicks shipped or....?
How old are chicks.....do I see some feathers there already?
