Hiya!

We got our first chicks, we separated the mum and the chicks from the flock, but they were keep right beside it and in view of the flock.

We built a smaller coop and run for the new arrivals, They are out with the mum and mum is keen to be let off again, but I am not sure when I should let them go out with the others one.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

chicks should not be placed with big hens (mother excluded) untill they are 4 months atleast. most people will tell you not till 6 months when they are full grown, but i have my 4 month olds in with all my hens and after the pecking order was pecked out we have had no problem. even the pecking order wasn't too hard on the chicks. just a few pecks to the head then they left them alone. no blood no injury... good luck:yiipchick
