new chicks with hens

I just got my first chicks and i'm also planning on taking on a few hens from a friends flock.i'm wondering if it would be better to put my chicks, when they are old enough in the coop first then get the mature hens and add them. Any thoughts or suggestions

It would be best to keep the chicks and hens separated until they're close to the same size. The hens could kill the chicks if you put them all in together.
