Bought these from tractor supply supposed to be two gold laced Wyandottes and a black sex link. I got 14 chicks total. Thinking there's at least 3 different breeds. What's your guess on what these are? About a week old. There are 3 chicks pictured. 2 pics of each chick.

it looks like you have some golden laced wyandottes and black sex links, but i'm not sure what the other chicks are. they look very familiar but i cannot think of a specific breed. it almost looks like they have blueish feathers coming in. what color are their wing feathers?

Top one cant be a Wyandotte wrong kind of comb. And the one supposed to be a sex link does indeed have blue feathers coming in. So guessing not a black sex link :) But thanks for replying

I still think the top chick is a golden laced Wyandotte, I have one that looks just like it and it was bought from a hatchery as a GLW.

Brown-headed chick kind of looks like a Welsummer or Speckled Sussex but hard to tell without seeing the rest of the body.

Bluish chick looks like some kind of Olive Egger maybe? The brown-headed one could be an Olive Egger/Easter Egger as well depending on body color and feet.

Don't think that's possible. It has the wrong kind of comb. Not sure if maybe a cross breed? But even my Wyandotte crosses have the right comb. What kind of comb does yours have?

Hatchery grade birds can throw a straight/single comb even though the standard is rose comb. I looked and mine does have a rose comb though. Otherwise yours looks hands-down like a GLW to me, so I bet it just has a fault comb.

Something I read about it from a show birds forum:

Persistence of straight comb in a rose comb background is interesting because the recessive straight comb gene restores fertility to rose comb sperm. In other words, heterozygous straight comb/rose comb males have a significant reproductive advantage over pure rose comb males.

It could be something else of course, but GLW is still my best guess.

3 is the only one with a pea comb.
