new chicks

Duck is MMMMmmmmm good. Many people love to cook with duck eggs over chicken eggs also.

I wish I had the space to "GO BIG". As long as you can provide the care then why not.

40 acres,so lots of room, pen that was here when I bought the place is 50'x50',I'm putting the post in the ground and finishing up the plumbing for 2 pens 50'x150' they will be 8' tall with 2'' top netting, and still have a 50'x100' pen at my brothers place.
I'm lazzy but care is simple auto waters cleaned 2 times a day and 100lbs range feeders so feed once a week, and for treats I have a deer feeder in the pen that goes off twice a day to give some corn. For me it is easyer to take care of 1000s of birds as it is for a few.

I want that many or more! Talking DH into it is entirely different!

Had a dw now ex,now have a AWSOME lady friend, who gets my dog and bird habbit.
Yes sell Mallards, would rather not say to who but I could raise 5k birds a year and have them sold.
Poop is a small problem now but when pens are done will be able to switch birds from one to the other for cleaning and giving the grass and cover a break from the ducks, but in time know that the ducks will work it down to bare ground, pens have a 10' door to get the tractor in there for clean up and plow and re-seed.
(liquidroofcoatings)Figure the chicks will be in the brooder 30 days or less then, will be moved outside to the hen house and will give heat at nite if needed.I'm with you you need to start, but do not say to start big,my thinking is the guy that had my place used to sell eggs to people that go to the chuch at the end of my road, but stoped 4years ago and people are always stopping to see if I have eggs for sale,so figure I have a market for eggs so why not,I'm retired and enjoy my birds, and hate to say it but chickens make the perfect pets becuse if it does not work out they are great on the bbq.
