New chicks!

And I didn't even have to sneak them home! My mom saw them at the feed store and decided to get them! I guess my subtle hints worked, lol.
the feed store supposedly had "ameraucaunas", delawares, and light brahmas. This is supposedly a delaware and an EE, although the little chipmunk has yellow feet. I haven't had the heart to point that out to my mom yet, as she really likes green eggs...

just wanted to show off my little peeps. My mom is just lucky that I've been secretly planning on getting chicks so I was already prepared to throw together a brooder on super short notice... Next goal is to keep giving free eggs to my mom's handyman and get him to convince my mom we need a bigger coop so we can have more than 4 chickens, so I can get more babies (and maybe actually get the breeds we want, lol).

I just got 5 EEs from Belt hatchery, and they all have yellow feet too. She will probably still lay green eggs. Congrats!

well, my mom and I were out in the garage looking at the babies in the brooder, and my mom was asking if i thought we had room for 5 chickens... once i remembered that brahmas were feather-footed, we were back at the feed store picking up one more chick. we like variety, lol. I'll get some pictures of the new little girl a bit later.
