new chicks

I have 2 new chicks I put them in a box inside with a hen she keeps biting them the hen is out side now how long does it take for hens to get use to chicks

The chicks really need to be older to be placed with a hen. Personal experience is that they will tend to peck them as they are "outsiders" to her and they are too fragile to be "beat up" like that.

You are suppose to keep them apart
until they are all about the same size.
So that way they can defend themselves. And
