I'm one of the first to remind people that dry chickens are healthy chickens, but in an open air style coop a little dampness at the open end isn't a disaster -- so long as the roosts are at the back in the dry part.

For some reason my RIRs love water. They stand out in the rain and splash around in the puddles even though they have a covered area to retreat to if they wanted. That has been probably one the biggest surprises I’ve had so far.
