new coop design layout questions - wall, nesting box & roost height for this coop design

I am looking at creating metal trays to slide into the hen house... any thought on how deep they should be? 2-4"

Ehhh...sliding trays seem like a great idea, but don't really work well.

Make sure you have access to easily reach every corner of the coop...
...and to the roosts to remove birds at night for exams.

After cooing with hutches similar to the one you are building for 4 years, we are building a walk in coop early next spring. I don't have trays in my hutches, and I don't think I would like them. I use a small garden rake to remove straw once a week and replace it. It's not hard, and doesn't take long, but I'm leaning inside a 10' hutch which isn't pleasant. I wear a mask, gloves and light jacket for the task, and then go take a shower.
