As I posted a while back my coop was destroyed in the April 22nd F4 tornado here in Missouri.
After finally getting what I thought was a fair settlement from the insurance company the coop was ordered and put up on June 16th.
I built the coop that was destroyed and it was a 10 x 12 that I basically built myself and this time because the ins. co. is paying I decided to save myself time and aggrevation (I thought) and I hired a national company to build the replacement. I went with a 10 x 18 shed in which 10 x 12 is for the chickens and a partition wall and a 6 x10 storage area with it's on entrance.

Well, I had a chicken door and a human door custom made for the chicken coop part. They show up and it takes them about 45 minutes to tell me the customer doors are not ready. WHAT!!!, what good is this to me, how the heck am I suppose to get into the darn thing, why are you here, I took a vacation day to be here, yada, yada, yada. Anyway after a few calls to the sales person and to the "boss" I had a temp. human door installed by the end of the day.

So they finish, boy was I not happy. They put up a piece of cracked facia and then painted over it like I wouldn't notice, it's not level, the roof job is bad and a few other things. They will be back on July 6th to make the necessary repairs.

Part of my rant here is that it truely is hard to find tradesmen or tradeswomen that do a professional workman like job any more. I had quite a bit of damage to my home as well and the roof, gutter, fascia/soffit guys all had to make at least one more trip to complete the job correctly and to the standards I believe a job should be completed to. Keep in mind all the companies I hired came recommended by family or friends, had clean BBB records and clean records with the State of Missouri. Maybe I should have checked with my BYC friends here first.

Well I've found out that 4 of the 5 companies I hired to do work on my property outsource or used outsouced labor on my projects.......................

I'll try to get good pictures this weekend and post.

I am so sorry for all you have gone through. It is bad enough to have to deal with natural disasters but seems even more unfair that you have to deal with unscrupulous contractors. I hope everything gets fixed to your satisfaction and look forward to seeing pictures.

I hope you get everything done to your satisfaction. I am rarely happy with the people I hire.I have a good furnace/ac and a good septic company-everyone else has been duds. Shoot, I couldn't even get the young guy at home depot to cut 2 boards evenly so I could make a garden box.

Sounds like you would have been better off pocketing the coop cash and building your own again.Again I hope it gets done right!
