I am thinking of building a new walk-in coop for my hens. I have three hens. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what I should do or any simple diy plans. Thanks!
Well I'd look for some shed plans like this and modify them to be a coop by adding good ventilation. Look for good overhangs so the windows can be open when raining.
My dad made me one last year looks like a tiny house. i can stand up in it get around but hubby can but not as good. BUT I spend more time in it and playing vet then he dose lol. here it is little by little till done. we started at my dads then had to have my dads friend get a backhoe to move it to our place across the track. your more then welcome to copy it or take notes. we use Styrofoam for insulation. and it stays pretty coolish in the summer and NICE and warm in the winter even with the little slid door open an heat light. Some of the chickens even started to lay eggs in there before we got it done. we started in the spring and on the weekends when dad was home we got it done in November BUT there was some early snow here in PA lol.
