any problems with your neighbors? No rooster I see....do the hens run the yard, or just when you are outside with them?

I love the paint job. And keep work'n that lab -- I have a black lab too and she's great with the chickens. As far as she's concerned, they are strict competition for t.r.e.a.t.s.

In my neighborhood, no rooster = no neighbor problems. Our CC&R's actually state that hens are ok, roos are not. We are on about 1/2 acre lots and the coop is far enough out that they don't really bug anyone. Besides, my neighbor on one side already has chickens and my neighbor on the other side will be happy to get a few fresh eggs now and then.

Right now the hens can run the yard if we are out there or when my lab is locked up inside. My lab isn't too used to them yet and still wants to "play" a little too hard. She's only about 1 1/2 years old and still has that puppy attitude most of the time. Good thing is that she's still trainable.
