I am thinking of building a second coop and rotating the chickens for 2 years on one and then moving them to the other, ( sterilizing the coop and letting that area rest )
and in the mean time if I introduce new chickens putting them in the "free" coop. How do chickens do with a move? I let them free range during the day. So I thought if I locked them in the new coop for a week they would lay their eggs there ? ? or would they just go back the the old coop to lay !?!?

They're quite creatures of habit, it will just be a crapshoot if they'll lay in the new coop or return to their old habits.

Why are you wanting to rotate coops? Or sterilize a coop? Are you having disease issues?
