We built a coop over many weekends during the quarantine, and got our first 8 chickens from a farm just outside of town in early August. The hens all hatched in April or May and as of October we have not yet received eggs. They free-range around our back yard when we have time to keep one eye on them. We feed them a mix of pellets and table scraps. We lost one overnight last week and do not know why. So we are left with 7. Our sweetest is an Orpington but she is not doing well. I’ve posted about her is a post called Gasping for Air.
