I'm not finished but the coop has birds in it.
Inside shot showing the baby roost I moved from the brooder and the big boy roost. I know they can fly up there cause a couple did when my dog scared them but they have not since.

Another shot showing the grown up roost. It may be a while before they can get up there but a game chicken should have no problem.

I've got the outside run sketched out, think it will be 16' square. Got another batch of chicks due to hatch in a couple days so I need to get moving.

I'm loving that coop. Are you going to be skirting it with hardware cloth to keep predators from digging under it? I really like that kennel panel front. Great idea!

In the interest of saving time; I have decided to buy a complete 10x10 by 6 foot tall kennel. They will be exactly like the one pictured above fastened to the front of the coop. That will give me five panels which will make a 10x20 run. I plan to lay treated 4x4s down on the ground for a foundation. Drill holes in each end of the 4x4s to drive a steel stake through to secure them. I will leave 6-8" of the pin sticking up above the 4x4 to set the legs of the panels down on.

The one thing I have not figured out how to "engineer" yet is the top. Most of the plans floating around in my head would be nearly as much work as building the run from scratch. I may just try to find some bird netting to drape over... At this point I will be satisfied with keeping the birds in. I have thinned the coons down a good bit so I'm not necessarily committed to building an enclosure that will keep a determined one out

Suggestions?

You did a very nice job! Want to come to Kansas and build me one
