You're welcome Kevin, right now we think we will do the deep litter method and from what I've read 6-8 inches is recommened. I have about 3-4 inches in the coop right now but they are only in the coop to go to the nest boxes, they even roost in the VERY secure run, when the weather gets colder we will remove the outside roost and hope that they head inside to roost. Living in NC our winters are not so bad, where are you?
