here is what i have done so far. i still need to finish all the trim, paint and hardware fabric. i cant paint until its warm enough, probably in spring, i hope that it doesn't create any problems with the wood. i have been very lucky, I only have about $60 put into this. most of the wood was donated by neighbors and family:) and i got the roof panels on clearance at lowes.

Is it too wet to paint until spring? Maybe you could at least put a sealant on the wood. (It looks so nice, I don't want your coop rotting out on you before you have a chance to paint it!)

sealing would be a good idea, i didn't think of that. i will go to home depot today, i need to find out if that can be applied too in cold weather.

I have had good luck using oil-based paint in winter. It will just take several days to dry. It should be more-or-less kept dry until it is tacky, then it can take some moisture.
