New coop

I have 6 chickens and just started building them a bigger coop, I have the shell of it done and the small coop inside it until I can finish it. The chicks were doing good going into the coop at night but now they fly up on the roof and want to stay there. Ever put a net up but they go over that and they really don't want to come back down. They don't bother during the day at all just night. Thought maybe there old coop is to small? And I got to finish the bigger one faster?

Finish as soon as you can. Chickens like to get up higher, and if they are cramped in the smaller coop, they may be getting warm at night. But don't let them stay out where a predator could get at them. Thats my thoughts.
