We recently got the girls a new coop and I saw that they are not using the roosts. One out of six girls was using the roost the other night. The others were either on the ground or in lying boxes. My friend said I need to pick them up and put them on the roost but by nature of design of this coop that is very difficult to do. Should I be concerned?

Definatly healthier for the chickens if they roost. Is there sufficient roost space for your chickens? Were they roosting in your old coop? Are the roosts easily accessible to them? Not to high? How old Re your chickens? A picture could maybe help us.[/QUOT

If this is the size of the coop, not including nests, it may be too small for 6 birds.
Product Height: 42 in.
Product Length: 64 in.

The 2 roosts shown would be hard to get up onto.
