It looks very nice! Do you have hardware cloth around the run? If it's only chicken wire, the predators can rip through it.

One square foot 24/7 per adult standard size bird.

Yes, that would be more secure, as long as the hardware cloth is attached securely to the frame.

This, as a minimum in moderate climates. In hotter climates you would do better with 2x3 times that amount.
