Just acquired a new pullet. Possibly able to get the Roo? Have a flock of young hens pullets and 6 week old chicks. Would like to be this Roo but I know I will be keeping a Roo or two from the 6 weekers. Will end up with 20+ hens.Bring in Cream Legbar Roo, good ideal?

How many hens will you have exactly? If in the twenties, I don’t think I’d keep more than two cockerels with them.

24 hens gives you 12 per cockerel, if you want three boys I’d aim for thirty hens at the minimum. Or if they’re for breeding, keep your boys in one pen together until you need one of them. 3:24 will stress your girls out a lot, in my opinion.

Depends on your goals.
Why are you keeping chickens?
Why do you think you need more than one male?

Multiple males can be a nightmare of a train wreck,
the competitive environment they create can make them all behave at their worst.

If you are new to chickens, it might be best to have no males,
until you get some chicken experience under your belt.

Young males(under 1yr) can be a real PITA starting at about 4mo.
If you do decide to keep multiple males, make sure you have separate enclosures/crates ready to go, cause when it gets ugly it happens fast.

On ratios:
The 'rooster' to hen ratio of 1:10 that is often cited is primarily for fertility efficiency in commercial breeding facilities.
It doesn't mean that if a cockbird has 10 hens that he won't abuse or over mate them.
Many breeders keep pairs, trios, quads, etc
It all depends on the temperaments of the cock and hens and sometimes housing provided.
Backyard flocks can achieve good fertility with a larger ratio.

Assuming that 20+ hens is the desired number of hens for your flock you won't need any replacement hens this year. I would let them all grow out and see which ones you like this year. Then when you are ready to start another grow out group for next year you can use your favorite cockerel from the 6 week old group.
