I don’t plan on keeping them locked to that one area. I have a huge back yard. But while at work it’s enough. I eventually plan to extend so they can free range.

Just a quick change of subject. What breed does this look like and am I correct in saying that this is a rooster? Around 6 weeks old.

Swing sets seem fast and easy...but A-frames are hard to weather proof, ventilate, and space gets tight fast up high.

Yes, it's the sharply slanted 'roof' that makes it hard to have good ventilation that is protected from the rain....and as the roosts get higher the head room can be too small for the birds to easily navigate.
They are better off used as a run where water infiltration is not as much of an issue.
