After noodling it for quite a while, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased a couple of drakes from Holderreads to help with our breeding programs.
We have two Pastel Ducks that we hatched last spring / summer from local stock. Pretty good looking ducks, just seem that they all turned out to be not drakes. So, I inquired, and ended up with a breeder quality Blue Fawn Drake to use in the pen.
While I was looking, I saw they had some Australian Spotted Drakes listed. Well I have a start in the breed, once again from local stock. I decided a Silver Headed Drake would add to the possibilities in the Aussies, so I pulled the trigger on a show quality Drake.
They left this afternoon, and hopefully seeing that it is a short trip, they will arrive tomorrow, but probably by Thursday.
