Hey there guys!

3 weeks ago my husband and I got our very first ducks. They were about 2-3 weeks old when we got them so they’re about 5-6 weeks old now. Pretty sure they’re Pekins as well. in the last few days, I’ve noticed Quackles, my bigger one of the two, has had some pretty raunchy diarrhea. I did integrate some Purina Duck Food that I found after researching food that’s supposedly good for ducks of all age and a bigger water dispenser this week so I’m hoping that’s the cause for it. But I’m also slightly worried it’s not. They are inside still in a 110 gallon water trough. they are always isolated from the other animals in the house and only go outside for supervised swim time. I throughly clean they’re tub with water and soap and change out the bedding every day.
Does anyone have any treatment idea to help stop up the diarrhea before I take him to a vet? I’d hate to waste their time if it’s something I could have easily done at home on my own. I attached a picture of the diarrhea spot in the tub from today.

Hello, and Welcome to BYC! :frow

Is that all their poop? From the picture, I see some solids, and I do see some water, but perhaps they spilled some water and it's mixed together and appears as if its diarrhea. Duck droppings are usually more "watery" than most fowl, other factors can contribute to the consistency like the temperature they are being kept in, disease, etc.

I'd first make sure what they are actually producing because to me it looks as if they defecated and spilled water over top of that. How are they acting?

Welcome! :frow
My ducks have a variety of poop consistency, depending on how much water they consume and time of day. Everything they drink have to come out behind as well.
You said they had supervised bath time, is the "juiciest" poop related to that in time? Or have you observed the duck in question drink more than the others?

Changing food can definitely upset their stomach. Usually it'll settle down in a week or so.
