new duckling hatched by mamma duck

i was filling the water pan in my duck pen where i have 3 ducks laying on nest. this morning i noticed a duckling laying with its mamma. i put food and water for the duckling near the nest. will it find the food. or do i take the duckling and brood it myself? thanks john

How high up is the food? The duckling will most likely find the food eventually. Are there any drakes in the pen? They have been known to kill ducklings.

i have the water and food in the brooding size containers. no i kicked my drake bob out and locked the pen this morning. hopefully some more will hatch. i have three mammas on three nests, with a total of 36 eggs.

we are growing our homestead. we are up to 100 chickens and 12 ducks. hoping for more. normaly we would incubate but our three ladies went broody so im letting nature take its course. we also have a nice 1/4 acre garden.
