With the COVID 19 crisis I'm shopping AMAZON all the way - now wanting to step out and shop.
These are the products I think I'm suppose to get based on studying these forums. Would you be able to look it over and tell me if I'm choosing correctly and perhaps what you think about the prices?

Oh dear... what was I thinking!

I thought you were talking about a medication list!

To start with you could get a walmart dog fence for about $35 which would do the same thing as the bottom item. Get a kiddie pool and put the fence around it. I use pine shavings with puppy pad over it until they get bigger and then just pine shavings. You can put your "used" shavings under plants that are acid loving so it won't go to waste at all. TSC for the pine.

You could make your own feeder and waterers. The only one I bought was the red one which you screw a mason jar into and then graduate up as they grew. The 2 middle ones are pretzel containers from Aldi. They grow so fast you won't use any for a long time except the 5-gallon bucket which you'll use forever.

Waterers start with this one. Put a tray of some kind under it so your brooder isn't a sloppy mess.

After they get a bit bigger go to this:

This food is good from hatch on through life for ducks. TSC and get the B-complex too.

And just a small bag of chick grit from TSC will be more than enough. They'll need it if you give them anything other than the duck food. That little yellow ball in the top left corner is a treat ball that you can find at TSC too, about $5.

this should cut down on your shopping list total for sure!

This has all been so helpful. Thank you so much! Just placed my order for 3 baby duckings! I'm now officially a duck lady!!!

I have to say I went with the rent a coop cups and I love them. I put them on an old cat litter container and set it up for the ducklings on something with a raised thing for the cups to work right. Then I give them a tub to dunk their heads in. But they always have water to eat with even if they slash it all out of the tub with the holes.

I'm very curious about what you're describing. I'm not familiar with rent-a-coop - went to their website and it looks like they rent large coops - I will just be getting three ducklings. Can you put some photos of what you're talking about here?

I'm also really interested in understanding better what you did with the "old cat litter container and set it up for the ducklings on something with a raised thing for the cups to work right." It sounds good, but I'd like to see what you are talking about!

Definitely, have some supplements on hand if you can. I like the vitamin electrolyte mix from Metzer Farms, but SAV-A-CHICK also has one you can get a TSC. I also like Vetrx, Nutri-drench, Sav-a-chick probiotic. Also, it's helpful to have a b-complex vitamin on hand. That is one thing I wish I had right now as one of my ducklings is exhibiting symptoms of a b deficiency (I have no idea how, when she gets all the same as the other duckies)but, that seems to happen with ducks. Trust me you won't want to run out to grab supplements (if you can even find them) if you need them.

Okay, thank you so much. I am a newbie with supplements (I have to admit I struggle even with human supplements... I always mix up what does what and end up getting overwhelmed with them)...

Can you help me identify when I would need what?

Like...
the vitamin electrolyte mix from Metzer Farms
- every day whether something is wrong or not? and how much every day
- if not everyday - when do I know the Duckie needs it and how much do I give??

SAV-A-CHICK
- is this a replacement or an additional supplement to the vita electrolyte mix
- every day whether something is wrong or not? and how much every day
- if not everyday - when do I know the Duckie needs it and how much do I give??

Vetrx, Nutri-drench, Sav-a-chick probiotic
- every day whether something is wrong or not? and how much every day
- if not everyday - when do I know the Duckie needs it and how much do I give??

b-complex vitamin on handb-complex vitamin on hand
- I'm guessing that's not every day
- when do I know the Duckie needs it and how much do I give??
