I saw a thread about pekins needed it and that is what made me go out to buy some. You’ll need niacin for the pekins and any heavy breed you have.
I couldn't find anything for ducks other than the all flock raiserWell you can but what I use is formulated for Ducks too.
That one might be worth switching too.Purina flock raiser has the right Amt. but you still might have to supplement especially for heavy breeds.
I haven't used either and my Ducklings are great each year. I feed a starter for Chicks, ducks, geese and turkeys. I feed lots of greens too
The feeds made in Canada are not the same as the ones here and most people here in the US supplement niacin when feeding The Dumor brand.Well you can but what I use is formulated for Ducks too.
I'm so happy you noticed that Chickens Really is in Canada. I would have gone out looking for something I wouldn't find. The feeder made in Canada are not the same as the ones here and most people here in the US supplement niacin when feeding The Dumor brand.
Your ducklings need feed that contains 55 ppm niacin. What that means is the feed they eat needs to have 55 mg of niacin per 2.2 pounds. If you call or email Dumor they should be able to tell you how much is in it. If you know how much is in it we can figure out how much you need to use, or you could assume it has none and add 2.75 ml per 2.2 pounds of feed.Well I'm happy I picked up some B Complex now to figure out how much and the easiest way to give them some.
Thank you, I will email them to find out.Your ducklings need feed that contains 55 ppm niacin. What that means is the feed they eat needs to have 55 mg of niacin per 2.2 pounds. Thank you I will look into that.I have learned last year that Niacin is really hard to overdose and i found a supplier with reasonable prices here: https://www.bulksupplements.com/niacin-usp.html
Bought 250 grams (a lot!) last year and mixed it into the ducklings drinking water. Even my grown-up get a dose into their water from time to time.
