I surprised my husband with these two little ones today as a Father’s Day gift! We had a pair of Pekin ducks that he had gotten & really liked, but unfortunately a predator killed them, we believe while they were trying to protect one of the hens when it got snatched.

The lighter one is a Silver Swedish, the black is a Cayuga. Does anyone have experience with these breeds? They are going to live with a mixed flock of chickens, turkeys, & guineas once grown enough.

We’d also like them to be tame. The last pair didn’t like being handled, which made things difficult at times if we had to handle them. Any suggestions?

Socialize them while young approaching from the side not from above. All fowl as prey animals do not like being approached from above. Understand that as 'teenagers' they will go through a panicky stage, but food is the great equalizer. Hope that your husband enjoys this great Father's Day gift.
