New Ducklings

So cute! you'll know by voice in a few weeks, that is mainly how Mallard derived are sexed.

When i got my Pekin, which i raised in my house(loopy i know) the brooder just got louder and louder.. i hit gold, out of my half dozen.. i ended up with 5 ducks, 1 drake lol.

I think I have at least one female, she has started doing the excited cackle at dinner and breakfast! I looove the excited cackle! It’s my favorite duck noise

So Pekins are also a mallard derived breed, all duck breeds are supposedly mallard derived other than Muscovy's. At least that's my understanding anyways.

Huh! I never realized that! Though makes sense!!my pekins were mostly feathered out and living outside by 4weeks.
These Rouen cross pacific black babies are still small enough to fit in one hand and are only juuuust getting little winglet spikes
I’m actually getting time to enjoy the baby phase!
