Hey y’all, i recently got two Pekin ducklings and one sadly passed away. I’m getting two more for the one I have left and I was just wondering how I should introduce them.

I am sorry for your loss :(.

Assuming everyone is super young and they are still in a brooder I would either;

1. Chuck them in together and stay and watch for bickering.

.2. Divide the brooder into two with something that ensures everyone can see each other, give them a few days like this then remove the divider.

Good luck and share some pics pls ! X

If they are really young and close to the same age you won't have to try very hard to bring them together. (But I still would watch and chaperone awhile, because I don't like playing to chance.)

Thank you for the reply! They are about two weeks apart. I will post some pictures when they get here :)

My mom insisted on getting her rubber duckies (she doesn’t try to peck at them, just likes to cuddle). Her heat lamp is usually on only during the night because my room gets so hot in the daytime.

So sorry to hear you lost one, that’s always tough! I had to replace one of mine from a group of 10, the rest were 4 weeks older and accepted her right away. I put her in the group at night while they were asleep, the next morning it was as though she were there the whole time. Best of luck and she is extremely cute, I love the rubber duck idea so she doesn’t feel as lonely!

I have a larger version of your rubber ducks. Most evenings I use it to block off the older ducks from running around their coop when it’s time to go in. They are terrified of it.
